I had bought this camera at sears a few years ago. it works pretty good, i have never had a problem with weird noise, or bad picture or anything, the only bummer is if you want a camera that is easy to be able to transfer your video to disk, then this is not the camera for you, but if you prefer tapes its pretty good, and you can get the tapes from wal-mart, so all in all its a fairly good camera.

My wife purchased the camcorder for our trip to Europe. I'm 60 and have never used a camcorder. I prefer still pictures. I tried the video and the pictures and sound were crisp and true. The still pictures were very good. I found the camcorder easy to use and it gave good results for a new video maker. I would recommend buying it.

I got the camcorder, took it home, charged the battery, and started to experiment with it. Seemed fine at first. I was happy with it. The next day, (or the day after, maybe) I noticed a noise that happened while I was recording that sounded annoying. I took the camcorder to a concert to record a band and the tape seemed to drag. I popped the tape into one of the Playpak adapters (whatever you call them) to watch the video on the living room TV and noticed that the sound quality wasn't so great, and neither was the video quality. I don't know if this is just a bad-quality camcorder in all, or if I just happened to buy a bad one. My advice is to research everything you can before getting one of these. Try out others, whatever you want/need to do, but I, personally, do not recommend this camcorder to anyone. The tape seemed to drag, the video quality wasn't that great, the sound quality was pretty poor. The built in microphone, to me, seemed a little too sensitive. Now one thing I realized is that I had the video mode in SLP (super long play) so that the tape would last longer, which sacrifices some of the quality of the video and sound, but that shouldn't cause the tape to drag. And the microphone just seemed a little too sensitive, to me. I don't really recommend this camcorder. Maybe I just happened to pick up a bad one but if they're all like the one I bought, I definately do NOT recommend this one.

I used to love this camcorder. Anymore it seems I cannot get through an entire disc without some sort of fatal disc error. I have lost more memories than I care to think about!



Right now it keeps giving me error 0280. I have removed the disc several times to no avail. All I want to do is finalize the disc and move on! I guess you have to finalize the disc if you're lucky enough to get one-third or one-half full before you get a disc error.



I used to think it was the disc, but I'm really not sure. I have tried Fuji, Memorex and I don't know what else. I am really disppointed and sad about the lost footage. I still have all the corrupt discs. I wish there were some way to retrieve the data as I was never able to finalize them.

I got this camera as a Christmas present and loved it for awhile until my Dell broke and I finally got a new Mac!! I was surprised to find out that that this camera does NOT work with Mac's unfortunately. Now I can't even use it because burning to a DVD and then bringing it into iMovie reduces the quality so much, it's not even worth the hassle. When I used this camera on my dell, it worked perfectly though so no worries there!



Despite it not working on Mac's, I have to say I was NOT impressed with the image quality. The auto focus is constantly searching and the manual focus doesn't work too well. I've used Sony MiniDV cameras and they are SOO much better for image quality. It's a good camera for anyone taking simple video and not taking too much action shots. Okay Camera, but there's better ones for your money out there.

One star is one too many for this camera. It will only work with RAM discs with frequent errors. Found many errors in owners manual. The drive motor has gone bad and now I have nothing. Panasonic wants $500 to fix it! I don't see myself EVER buying another Panasonic ANYTHING !

I have had this camera for about a year. I have used to record sports events, home events, etc. I have been satisfied with the recording capability. I did have to upgrade my home dvd player so that I can use the DVD format. I have been able to transfer movies to my PC for professional editing using third party software from Pinnacle and Dazzle. The software supplied by Panasonic for PC operations does not work, period. I have tried to contact Panasonic for support, and have received absolutely no response, not even an acknowledgement. There is no way I can find to replace or upgrade the software, or to get a human to answer questions. Customer support is crucial to me, I will not buy another Panasonic product given my experience to date.

These instructions suck! They leave out vital information on procedures (like the exporting and burning onto disks) and then stick it somewhere else in the book. It does not give the "how to" in step by step format. I have had this complicated mess for a year and still don't have it figured out. Recording is a breeze but getting it off your dvd-ram onto your computer is a load of crap and best of all I have yet to find a place that sells the magical dvd-r's that are compatible to this thing. I finally exported my recording from the dvd-ram into the software and now I will have to thumb through these instructions for days to find out the small paragraphs just thrown about in bits and pieces throughout this manual to figure out how to save it to a dvd-r (wherever you find the ones that go with this fickle panasonic camcorder)

We almost bought the PCV-L552 for its big view finder and 27x optical zoom, but after a lot of digging on obscure web sites, we found this older camera suffers from a dew detector light that goes off too easily, shutting down camera for hours. The PV-L424 just came out in 2004.

After I charged up the battery and attached it to the camcorder, turned it to camera and it was stuck in pause mode, couldn't figure out how to work the camcorder even with the instructions, I notified the seller and she promised she would get back to me after she looked into it. Still haven't heard from her. Now I am out money and still in need of a camcorder that works without breaking the bank. Total frustration from my end. Ugh!!!

This is probably one of the best electronics I have bought in a while, the only complaint I have on it is you need good light to take pictures or video tape anything, otherwise it comes out fuzzy and slightly blurry. It works great other than that. I already have transfered about 300 pictures onto my computer and have enhanced and printed them out. I would like to have something smaller to take pictures but I am happy w/ what I have until I get some extra $$$ to spend on a small digital camera.

This camera takes amazing quality digital photos. The features are extremely handy for making home movies, incorperating still photos; It is also nice to be able to get a still photo out of a movie! I have gotten a lot of compliments on the close-ups I took of my dogs... no red eye, no blurs... I also managed to get quite a few wildlife photos because the zoom quality is so good. I could also take a picture of a dew drop on my roses at night. So, that should tell you how good this camera is. The ONLY thing I do not like is the smaller sized video casettes. But, that is pretty standard with camcorders.. and a small price to pay for the size reduction from the much older, more cumbersome models. I would definitely recommend this product.

This camcorder has a nice feel and is fairly intuitive-but you still might want to run through the manual just the same.



The additional Audio Input is a real bonus for recording depositions and presentations and was one of the main features we were looking for in a camcorder. The lens seems nice and sharp and battery life is just enough for those long sessions. The other cool feature is the built in LED light source. Its bright and comes in handy in dark corners and under objects that would be hard to get a larger light and camera into.

The overall feel is; for the price, size and functionality it's a nice in-between for production and just about disposable if you need to get into an environment that may risk damaging your equipment.

I have just bought this camcorder and it is great. I was looking to buy a digital camera, 640 by 480 resolution or lower. I decided to save my money and buy a camcorder instead. When i saw this camcorder, i could not turn it down and so i bought it. To my surprise it performed in both modes above par. I was also surprise with the amount of features it had, so much, i haven't figured some of them as yet(I bought it today). Anyway, i would recommend this product to anyone who wants a good camcorder for their money.

Bought this camera and found it to be a great! I really loved the digital camera function. The camera doesn't take the best picutes in low light situations but I found it well lite situations it did great. Easy to download to the computer. The video functions were what I thought were exceptional. I have used a Sharp ViewCam many times and I think this Panasonic camera outdoes the Sharp hands down. I especially was impressed by the many extra features which I did not know were out in the market. Only disadvantage is that it is a heavier camera than I would have liked.

A VERY GOOD CAMCORDER EXCEPT THE PICTURE HAD A LITTLE TO MUCH JITTERS IN IT FOR MY TASTE. Most people probaly would not notice it. THE PICTURE WAS AS GOOD AS VHS-C GET. BUT I CHOOSE TO SEND IT BACK TO J&R AND GOT THE SONY CCD-TRV68. THERE ARE NO JITTERS IN THE SONY CCD-TRV68 AND THE PICTURE IS BETTER. OVERALL I LIKE THE PV-L751 BUT THE SONY CCD-TRV-68 IS THE BEST IN THE ANALOG CLASS

All in all I found the Panasonic PV-L751 to be an ideal product.The picture quality is excellent whether its using the camcorder feature or the digital still feature. The 8 MB flashcard allows for plenty of photos on one outing, depending on the settings you choose it can hold up to 87 photos. The unit is relatively lightweight and I don't have a problem with carrying it around for a long time. The negatives to this product are just a few, I didn't like the battery saver feature that shuts the camera off after 5 minutes of non-use, in the manual it states that this feature can be shut off but I didn't have any luck when I tried to do this. The other thing I didn't like was that the manual was too dificult to understand. Basically its a great product and I love it, I only gave it a 4 star rating because of the battery saver feature I didn't like, otherwise I would have given it a 5 star rating.

Anyways, my dad gave me the video camera because it was about 13 years old and he had bought a new VHS-C video camera. He used to have a video camera that you watch the videos on DVD but then got the other one I was mentioning because one time when we were in Hawaii eating at a restaurant, we got ripped off by some guys but we didn't know. When we went back in the car so we can drive to our destination, we first didn't know that we were missing anything until we got to our destination. My dad was the one who found out we got ripped off from gangsta boys. We didn't do anything but just let it go. I am going back to talking about the video camera my dad gave me. One thing I like about this video camera is that when your done and finished with the whole tape, you don't have to finalize it like you have to do for the video camera that you watch your videos on DVD. That is one thing my dad hated about the DVD video camera. The only thing he liked about it was that it was so clear on the screen. Anyways, when it was summer 2006 after school ended, I took this video camera with me to take to my granparent's house to video tape myself playing baseball. I used a pro training stick which was the bat and batted plastic balls. I caught myself on video lots of times hitting home runs. Pretty good playa boy. How the way i'll catch myself on video hitting home runs is that i'll put this video camera on something outside like the bench or something else. For pitching, I'll put the video camera on our slide at our grandparent's house to tape my grandfather and I. I caught myself throwing lots of fast strikes. Thanks Panasonic and dad!

I researched camcorders for 4 weeks straight before deciding upon this Panasonic. It has all the features (LCD screen, built in light, best optical zoom-focus available 26x, 150x digital zoom, remote, digital fades, titling, image stabalization...the list goes on! ) of other quality camcorders, only at half the cost! We absolutely LOVE this camera! My only concern was that is was VHS-C, as opposed to 8mm...BUT that is definately not a concern anymore. The picture quality of this Panasonic VHS-C is outstanding, and has great sound too! Another awesome feature is you don't have to hook up your camera to your tv or vcr everytime you want to watch what you taped (like the 8mm camcorders...ugh!)....this Panasonic comes with the VHS-C adapter tape cartridge the you just insert into your VCR like a regular VHS tape. All you do is push PLAY! If you've been looking for a quality camera but don't want to fork over tons of money....this is definatlely your BEST bet!

Very good camcorder for those looking for less buttons, easy to use and great results. The LCD screen is great for recording yourself and with others, knowing you got the shot you wanted and those tri-pod shots to difficult looking through a view finder. A movement activation option for those who what to see what goes on while their away is rather cool. It works so well in low level light, we haven't used the built-in light source yet. A camcorder you don't have to carry a manual around and with the quality of those you do.

We have had our camcorder for two weeks now and are amazed at how easy it is to use and the quality of the pictures. We record alot of sporting events and the LCD screen is great--you can watch the game instead of the old styles where you have to look through the view finder. Our son likes to analyze his hitting and throwing after the game by watching on the LCD scree.
